Hello! I’m Tracy Shirvill, a Registered Counsellor and owner of Finding Felicity Counselling.  Life transitions can take us in unexpected directions.  For me a personal turning point became the catalyst for pursuing my purpose – helping women find joy and purpose through counselling.
For many years, I worked in corporate administration, gaining experience in a variety of industries including finance, telecommunications, and IT.  Meanwhile wholistic wellbeing and counselling had always been in my heart.  When a significant relationship ended, I took time to reflect on my life.  This allowed me to connect with my core values, and rethink my life goals.  This self-discovery opened the door to a new career path.

I completed a Diploma of Counselling followed by a Bachelor of Counselling.  As a member of the Australian Counselling Association, I’m committed to providing compassionate, professional, and ethical support.  Having experienced how transformational counselling can be, I understand the courage it takes to begin the healing process.  It’s not always easy, but it’s worth every step.
At Finding Felicity Counselling, I provide a safe, non-judgemental space for women to explore their emotions and thoughts, especially for women who are childfree or childless.  My approach is not about giving you the answers; it’s about walking beside you as you find clarity, embrace your true self, and build a life which aligns with your deepest values.
When I’m not working I enjoy reading, baking, and indulging in my love for Lego.

Why Finding Felicity?

Probably the question I’m asked the most is, why is your business called Finding Felicity? The most direct translation of ‘felicity’ is ‘happiness’ (Old French, felicite and Latin, felicitatem). But the origins of felicity come from agriculture, meaning ‘that which brings happiness is that which produces crops’.

My lived experiences have shown me that the process of healing and change requires effort.  It can be uncomfortable, you may feel at times that your hard work is going nowhere yet there will come a time when you start to see positive change.  The counselling process is like a gardener planting seeds in the winter to bloom in the summer.

For those who have a spiritual or religious practice, felicity is the state of inner peace and joy we experience when we’re aligned with our true selves.  It’s the lifelong process of bringing peace of mind, tranquillity of heart, and contentment.
